I'm getting nervous!

Hey.  I just ordered BBC on Saturday.  I'm ready to recieve my kit and get going!  I've been reading through these posts today and I'm getting a little nervous!  Is it really that hard?  Everyone is talking about how hard it is and that they can bearly get through one minute.  I am so out of shape!  Walking up one flight of stairs gets me very winded and I feel like my heart is going to beat out of my chest.  Am I going to be able to do this?  I want to have a good experience with this program right off so maybe I'll stick with it.

I was just like you, huffing and puffing to get up the stairs but it's really amazing because after one week of this workout, I was bouncing up the stairs without any problem. For me, if I just can't keep up with one of the workouts, I just look at what the beginner is doing and to that. Barry says to keep moving even if you have to do the less intense move. You will get there. The DVD's are addictive. I wake up in the morning looking forward to working out. I'm on my 4th week.

I've been working out with barry's bootcamp for 11 weeks now, really 12 but I took a week off because I went away on vacation. It is a lot at first but it really does get better. I still sweat and breathe hard but I started out with the green band and now I am using the orange one because the green one was too easy. However, the orange is a lot harder and there is still one exercise, the military press, that I have to switch back to the green band because I bearly can get through it. Just keep thinking positive and the minutes will go by and then you're done and you'll feel so much better for having finished the 21 minutes, then the 12 more minutes for the mission specialits, then another 12 and another 12! LOL Don't worry, you'll get through it. We all have and we are all still going strong! Good luck!

I started out not being able to do one or two of the exercises, they were just too much. After just 5 days of doing the tapes and eating better I noticed I was able to do other exercises longer and even the ones that had troubled me were getting easier. So yes, it is a little hard at first but if you stick with it you'll notice a big improvement!

Another thing I do because of limited space and so on, is do jumping jacks for a minute or run in place. As long as you keep the heart rate up, you're good!

Don't be nervous! The workout is definitely a challenge; but go at your own pace and take care of yourself. It's worth it. Be sure and take the time to learn the workout first, don't expect to be keeping up with the athletes in the DVD until you get the hang of it. Set goals for yourself that match where you're at when you start. Barry's coaching is supportive through out. Before you know it, you'll be addicted to the workout like a lot of the people on the boards are.

I'm one of those people who've said that this is hard and i can tell you it is at first, but you have to look at it positively. You chose to make this purchase so that it makes a difference in your life.

I'll tell you what someone recently said to me...
"No workout program is supposed to be easy. If it were, people would stick with them more often then not."

It does get easier with time. There is someone in each workout that goes at a beginner pace. If you feel that you are really out of shape, then follow that person until you feel like you can go further. Even if you do 30 seconds regular and the rest at a beginner pace. Whatever you are comfortable with but the best advice i can tell you is stick with it and give it a chance ...as you excel you'll see it working for you.
